Altspace VR

Description of the space
In Altspace VR the tutorial room is looking like a big rooftop with interior and exterior space. In a cartoon world, you are surrounded by simple buildings and a texture that is looking like a sky painted by hand. Furnitures and objects are representing really classical stuff such as sofas, chairs, tables and carpets.
Everything is in a cartoon way, design with straight lines and polygons but everything seams to be twisted. Nothing is aligned and it works also with the design of surroundings elements. The space available is quite large and fluid to walkthrough. There are a lot of space between elements so it feels really easy to circulate but maybe at some point it seems to be quite empty. Spaces have lots of windows and are pretty good lighted.
Athmosphere
This space make me feel really bad. Not to mention the fact that it is not really nice to evolve in a cartoon, this one seems to be very bland. Every piece of furniture look like a bad copy of something real, geometries and textures doesn’texpress anything. The space try to enhance a cartoon style to hide the fact that it is hard to modelise something really defined in these kind of device. So after maybe 10min of discovering the controls and the mechanics of the space, everything seems to be an alternative reality where all is not very functionning. I can’t even talk about the fact that when you move your field of view is reduced by some black shadows. Then even if the terrace looks like open on the world, you feel really stuck in that little cartoon jail. Just seeing my avatar makes me fear to interact with other «living» entities in this strange world.
